Wuxi Beta Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. entered for the project-industrialization of urea-14C diagnostic reagent (nuclear drug) for gastric Helicobacter pylori detection. Helicobacter pylori is an important culprit in gastritis, gastric ulcer and gastric cancer, which seriously endangers human health and life safety, and is listed as a kind of carcinogen by the World Health Organization. There are 0.78 billion people in China and 4.4 billion people worldwide infected with Helicobacter pylori, with a potential diagnostic market of hundreds of billions of yuan. Urea-14C is the "gold standard" for the detection of gastric Helicobacter pylori infection ". However, due to the global shortage of carbon 14 raw materials, the current domestic all rely on imports to solve, quantity and quality are not guaranteed.
After years of hard research and development efforts, Wuxi Beta has conquered and mastered the core technology of the production of urea-14C (nuclear drug), the key raw material of gastric bacteria detection reagent, and has obtained an invention patent. The project products have passed the trial and the technology has fully reached the standard. At present, we are negotiating with relevant industrialization partners to achieve domestic substitution for imports as soon as possible.
On May 28, 15 enterprise projects that stood out from more than 200 participating projects entered the final of the enterprise group. After fierce competition, Wuxi Beta's gastric Helicobacter pylori detection reagent project (nuclear medicine) was recognized by the judges and experts, and finally won the second prize (4th place) of this competition. According to the rules of the competition, the project will receive preferential support policies in technology, talents, and finance from Jiangyin High-tech Zone in the future industrialization process.
